What is real estate? Land, real property you can see and touch. There's a history to it, linking the generations, as well as a future. What better land is there than Texas?
My interest in real estate can be traced back to my education in Texas history. I grew up in Baytown, Texas, just east of Houston on the Gulf Coast. I am a third-generation Native Texan. My mother, a Texas history teacher, organized many family vacations traveling throughout the Lone Star State. The hill country, with its lakes and rivers, became a favorite destination. The land and the variety of homes seen on these tours of Texas history formed a lasting impression in my mind.
I started college at the University of Texas in Austin in 1986, and fell in love with this city & it's central neighborhoods full of bungalows and mid-century ranch houses. After 7 yrs. in Austin, I spent the next 7 years in Arizona working with a high tech semiconductor manufacturing company as a supervisor. In my job, I discovered I liked helping others overcome obstacles, guiding them to improve team skills. Working with a variety of people and job descriptions, I gained invaluable negotiating techniques.
In 2001, I returned to Texas to be closer to family and develop a people-oriented career. I earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. I went to work for both a non-profit organization and another large semiconductor company before I made the decision to combine my love of real estate, Austin, and my quest to help guide people. I received my Texas Real Estate license in 2003. I believe real estate agents are much more than salespeople, we are guidance counselors. I truly listen and respond to your needs. And the education never ends.
I keep adding those keys that can open more doors.
I love my career in real estate and life in Austin! Let me show you how you can own a part of Texas history, too!
